Volkswagen Taigo R Line 2022

The stage has been set for a new silhouette for the Volkswagen brand: with the new compact Taigo crossover, Volkswagen is launching a coupe SUV on the European market for the first time. The front-wheel drive Taigo is a crowd-pleaser with its on-trend crossover body style, elevated seating positions, pioneering connectivity and unlimited suitability for everyday use. The rear of the five-seater tilts rearward like a coupe, without restricting headroom in the backseat. This allows Volkswagen to expand the portfolio of compact Polo (hatchback) and T-Cross (SUV) models built on the MQB platform with a third chassis variant, which was previously mainly reserved for high-end models. Numerous state-of-the-art assistance systems guarantee optimal comfort and a high level of safety for all passengers.

The new Taigo emphasizes design, individuality and emotion. With full LED headlights, a fully digital cockpit and the latest generation of infotainment systems (MIB3) as standard, the coupe SUV measuring just under 4.26 meters sets high-tech standards in its class. The expressive body shape is the first of its kind in the Volkswagen brand's model portfolio. With a crossover body style and a silhouette close to that of a coupe, the new Taigo - just like its Brazilian counterpart the Nivus - is perfectly equipped to appeal to new groups of predominantly young and old buyers for Volkswagen. The technical basis of the Taigo is Volkswagen's MQB. Depending on the options chosen, the Taigo is also equipped with the new IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights and an illuminated grille cross member.

The Taigo's design is characterized by strong proportions, with the coupe-like silhouette particularly striking with the C-pillar tilted well forward. Inspired by SUV coupes from higher vehicle classes, this makes the Taigo unique in its sector.

Inside, the Taigo stands out with an elaborately designed multifunctional steering wheel and modern controls as standard. The infotainment systems are based on the third generation of MIB3, including an in-line control unit (eSIM) and “App Connect Wireless” (depending on configuration).

And when it comes to driver assistance for greater comfort and safety, the new Coupe SUV is very similar to Volkswagen models in the upper sectors. Every Taigo is fitted as standard with assistance systems such as the “Front Assist” environmental monitoring system, including city emergency braking, and the “Lane” lane departure warning system. Assist ”. “IQ.DRIVE Travel Assist” is available as an option, allowing semi-automated driving up to a maximum speed determined by the system of 210 km / h.
